Introduction

Welcome to API Pick. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and API services located at apipick.com and any related services provided by API Pick.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, then you may not access our services.

Description of Services

API Pick provides developer API tools on a credit-based model. New accounts receive 100 free credits upon registration — no credit card required. Additional credits may be purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our current API services include:

• Email Validator: Syntax validation, MX record verification, and disposable email detection for any email address
• IP Geolocation: Country, region, city, coordinates, timezone, ISP, and ASN lookup for any public IPv4 or IPv6 address, powered by MaxMind GeoLite2
• China Phone Number Checker: Validate mainland Chinese mobile numbers and retrieve carrier, province, city, and area code
• Public Holidays API: National public holiday calendars for 100+ countries and any year, powered by the python-holidays library
• Telegram Phone Checker: Check whether a phone number is registered on Telegram and retrieve publicly available user information
• Company Facts Lookup: Retrieve public company data by stock ticker or SEC CIK, including market cap, industry classification, and SEC filings

Account registration is required to obtain an API key. Each API call deducts credits from your account balance. Credits never expire.

Credits and Payments

Free Credits

Every new account receives 100 free credits upon registration. These credits never expire and require no credit card to claim.

Purchasing Credits

Additional credits may be purchased at any time. Purchased credits are added to your account balance immediately upon successful payment and never expire.

Credit Deduction

Credits are only deducted on a successful API response. Failed requests due to invalid input or server errors do not consume credits. Each API endpoint documents its per-request credit cost.

Refund Policy

Used Credits

Credits that have already been consumed by API requests are non-refundable.

Unused Purchased Credits

Refund requests for unused purchased credits may be submitted within 14 days of the purchase date. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Free credits awarded on signup are not eligible for refund.

How to Request a Refund

Contact us via our contact page with your account email and the transaction reference. We will review and respond within 3 business days.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use our services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations
• Impersonate or attempt to impersonate any person or entity
• Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of our services
• Use our services to harass, abuse, or harm another person or group
• Use our services for stalking, cyberbullying, or any other form of harassment
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
• Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to circumvent credit accounting or abuse rate limits
• Share or resell API keys without authorisation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our services

API Usage Guidelines

Rate Limits

API access is governed by your account credit balance. Each successful request deducts credits. Requests made when your balance reaches zero will be rejected with a 402 Payment Required response. We reserve the right to apply additional rate limits to prevent abuse.

Data Usage

• You may use the data returned by our APIs for legitimate purposes only
• You must respect the privacy of individuals whose information you query
• You are responsible for complying with all applicable privacy laws and regulations
• Commercial use of our services is permitted but must comply with these Terms

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of our services, to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your information.

• You have the right to query the data types supported by each API endpoint for legitimate purposes
• You will not use our services to violate others' privacy rights
• You understand that some data is sourced from public databases and third-party services
• You are responsible for complying with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction

Third-Party Services

Our services integrate with or rely on third-party APIs, databases, and libraries, including:

• Telegram API: For phone number registration lookup
• SEC EDGAR Database: For public company information
• MaxMind GeoLite2: For IP geolocation data
• python-holidays (vacanza): For national public holiday computation
• Phone number databases: For Chinese carrier and location data

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services. We shall not be liable for any damage or loss caused by your use of data sourced from these services.

Intellectual Property Rights

The services and their original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of API Pick and its licensors. The services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The information provided through our APIs is offered on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude:

• All conditions, warranties, and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law, or the law of equity
• Any liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage incurred in connection with the use of our services
• Any guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data provided
• Any warranties that our services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall API Pick, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of our services.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid to API Pick in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless API Pick and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees).

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use our services will cease immediately.

If your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms, any remaining credit balance is forfeited and is not eligible for refund.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which API Pick operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
